We all use energy in daily activities such as walking, typing, and opening doors. One Dutch company has designed a product to produce electricity from people walking. The idea is to put specialized modules on dancefloors, and they will convert the energy from people stomping on them into electricity.

The French city of Toulouse has taken this one step further and installed modules on the sidewalk. Electricity generated from these modules are used to power a street lamp, which requires around 60 Watts. There is definitely a move to generate power from everyday activities, and it will be interesting to see how much of an impact these devices can really make.
